About the role
Jobs at WNYIL is hiring a Peer Support Specialist to support individuals with lived mental health experiences through positive self-disclosure.
Responsibilities
- Provide peer support to help individuals work toward goals related to Independent Living and vocations and improve Quality of Life.
Requirements
- High school diploma, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Related experience working with people with mental illness, based on education level.
- Be a current or former consumer of mental health services.
- NYS Certified Peer Specialist or provisional certification required within one year of hire.
- Ability to travel independently throughout WNY.
