Personal Caregivers Needed

About the role

Confidential is seeking two dependable caregivers for a younger, bubbly Veteran who has had multiple strokes. Her left side and voice remain paralyzed, but she stays active and positive. She enjoys painting, decorating, physical therapy and entertainment activities, outings, and errands.

The schedule is 7 days per week, split between two caregivers, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexible schedule options are Monday–Friday (40 hrs/week) plus Saturday and Sunday (16 hrs/week), or Monday–Thursday (32 hrs/week) plus Friday and Saturday (24 hrs/week).

Responsibilities

• Assist with bed baths, dressing, and personal care.
• Provide Hoyer-assisted and safe transfers, wheelchair and mobility support, and supervision and fall-prevention support.
• Provide medication reminders (open morning & evening) and prepare meals.
• Do laundry, make the bed (3x/week), vacuum, and mop.
• Help with PT and movement activities.
• Accompany her to activities or errands.
• Follow the established plan of care. Always ask before assisting and support her independence.

Requirements

• Be dependable and punctual, patient, respectful, and compassionate.
• Be able to follow detailed instructions.
• Experience with Hoyer lifts or mobility assistance is a plus; training is provided.
• Be comfortable in an allergies-free, smoke-free environment.
• Be pet-free and smoke-free, and avoid perfumes, colognes, and heavily scented products. Do not apply any products that bear pets or smoke.
• Must be able to pass a background check; appointment pending assignment.

Benefits

Selected caregivers will receive at least one full day of paid hands-on training with the caregiver’s current training partner. Training covers transfers, assistance with personal preferences, equipment, and how she prefers assistance.
