Job description
SUMMARY h2recruiting is seeking a dedicated Production Manager in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, responsible for meeting production goals efficiently while ensuring the highest quality of packaged herbs, spices, oils, and blends. This role requires managing manufacturing processes through strategic planning and optimal use of equipment and personnel in a safe, sanitary environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Resolve equipment issues and evaluate new equipment, processes, or layouts to enhance production efficiency. Develop long-term departmental goals and strategies aligned with company-wide strategic planning. Assist in preparing the departmental budget for all production shifts annually. Coordinate with purchasing, receiving/warehousing, production planning, and quality control to ensure smooth product flow. Act as liaison between production and other departments to address quality, supply, and process challenges promptly. Analyze data to identify cost-saving opportunities in labor, product loss, packaging, and consumables. Participate in special project teams to support continuous improvement initiatives. Review and verify labor distribution reports for accuracy. Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, housekeeping, and good manufacturing practices. Foster a positive work environment that promotes high employee morale and motivation. Implement waste reduction, recycling, and resource reuse strategies wherever feasible. Adhere to all safety policies, participate in training, and promptly report injuries or near misses.
