Job description
Join an asphalt paving team serving Northfield, Massachusetts, as a Project Manager/Estimator. This full-time role prepares and reviews estimates for asphalt paving, roadway construction, site development, and related infrastructure projects. The position is listed as remote eligible, with the team based in Northfield, MA.
Responsibilities
- Review plans, proposals, specifications, requests for proposals, and other project documents to develop complete, competitive estimate packages.
- Prepare estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings and produce detailed final contract estimates, primarily for asphalt paving and roadway or site development projects.
- Request and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and vendors.
- Review labor, equipment, and material costs and prepare estimating reports and analyses as requested by management.
- Assess project risks and exposures, identify potential construction issues, and incorporate appropriate costs into estimates.
- Identify value-engineering alternatives and follow department estimating standards and procedures.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of relevant experience.
- A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with HCSS or equivalent estimating software.
- Working knowledge of asphalt laydown and/or roadway construction operations.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, written specifications, spreadsheets, and project data accurately.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and careful attention to detail.
Compensation and employment
