Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

About the role

The Emily Program believes exceptional, individualized, evidence-based care can lead to lasting recovery from eating disorders. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner conducts psychiatric assessments and provides treatment within their training, licensing, and state regulations. The role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to treat patients with eating disorders and related or comorbid medical conditions in a gender-inclusive setting, serving patients of all ages across various levels of care.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm, with limited call.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct psychiatric services, including comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, appropriate exams and work-ups, and prescriptions or other interventions as indicated.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychiatric complications of eating disorders and intercurrent conditions for patients at all levels of care.
• Determine visit frequency according to clinical need and facilitate appropriate psychiatric care based on clinical severity and direction from site psychiatric leadership.
• Develop psychiatric treatment plans for assigned patients and update them with each visit.
• Liaise by telephone with each client’s ambulatory provider at admission, discharge, and as needed during treatment.
