Job description
Gurus Education is hiring a part-time Public Speaking & Debate Instructor in Burlingame, California. Help students in grades 1–8 build confidence, communication skills, and persuasive speaking abilities through an engaging after-school program.
Position details
- Location: Burlingame, California; in person
- Schedule: Weekdays, generally between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.; approximately 4–6 hours per week, with 1–2 hours per day
- Pay: $55 per hour
- Support: Training, lesson plans, and teaching materials provided; no lesson preparation or grading required
Responsibilities
- Lead public speaking and debate activities for students in grades 1–8.
- Help students strengthen their communication skills and confidence.
- Use the provided lesson plans and materials to support engaging instruction.
Qualifications
- Enjoy working with children; prior teaching experience is not required.
- Fluent in English.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Previous speech or debate experience is a plus.
