About TRANSTEXTRANSTEX designs and manufactures innovative APU systems, aerodynamic solutions, and composite materials that enhance fuel efficiency and reduce emissions for commercial transportation fleets.
Position SummaryReporting to the Quality Leadership, the Quality Control Supervisor is a hands-on, floor-first leader responsible for daily shop-floor quality operations.
This is not a desk job or a corporate policy role. You will spend 80% of your time on the production floor working directly with assembly operators, supervisors, and manufacturing engineers to catch defects early, troubleshoot inconsistencies, and drive root cause problem-solving. If you are an experienced hands-on quality inspector, lead, or supervisor who loves being in the action of a manufacturing plant, this role is for you.
Key ResponsibilitiesFloor Quality Leadership: Spend the majority of your day on the plant floor supporting production, guiding operators, and making real-time quality calls. Team Supervision: Lead, mentor, and organize the daily work of a small team of 3 quality inspectors/technicians. Root Cause & Problem Solving: Drive root cause analysis (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D) when quality issues arise and implement practical containment and corrective actions (CAPA). Inspection Oversight: Ensure incoming, in-process, and final product inspections are properly executed according to inspection plans. Data & Trend Analysis: Track defect rates and non-conformities using Excel to generate simple charts/histograms and identify areas for improvement. Continuous Improvement: Participate in internal audits, support process improvements, and assist with customer complaint resolutions and supplier non-conformities.
Qualifications & Requirements3 to 5 years of hands-on quality experience in a manufacturing or industrial assembly environment (e.g., automotive, metal fabrication, composite materials, aerospace, or industrial equipment). (Note: Food manufacturing / FSQA backgrounds are not applicable for this role). 1–3 years of experience in a team lead, senior technician, or supervisor role overseeing a small crew. Solid experience with practical root-cause techniques (5-Why, 8D, CAPA). Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (ability to log data, create basic charts, histograms, and trend reports). Highly accessible, visible, pragmatical, and comfortable making crucial quality decisions in a fast-paced plant setting. Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards or experience with composite materials/plastics is a plus.
What We OfferCompetitive Compensation: $90,000 – $105,000 annually, based on experienceMedical, Dental, and Vision Benefits.Voluntary Short-Term and Long-Term Disability.401(k) with generous company match.Paid Time Off (PTO) bank and paid holidays.Great, supportive team culture across Canada and the USA.
