About the role

Hadley Pottery is hiring a full-time RAM Press Pottery Operator to join its production team. The role involves operating and maintaining a hydraulic RAM press to create ceramic forms such as dinnerware and other pieces using custom dies and molds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the RAM press, including positioning and clamping dies, preparing clay, and running press controls.
• Prepare and size clay to proper specifications, ensuring consistency for pressing.
• Inspect ware for defects and accuracy in thickness, making adjustments as needed.
• Maintain molds and dies by sponging, cleaning, and ensuring proper function.

Requirements

• Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred, but training is provided.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control skills.
• Technical and mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift or maneuver heavy materials.
