Responsibilities
- Work directly with justice-impacted individuals, particularly those with substance use disorder, to rebuild their lives and enhance employability.
- Provide career and essential job skills readiness training, assist with work requirements, and facilitate access to health/mental health/social support services.
- Connect participants to transitional and permanent housing opportunities.
- Connect participants to second-chance employers and employment support programs such as West Virginia's Jobs & Hope and Creating Opportunities for Recovery Employment (CORE) programs.
- Be trained in a variety of topics, including mentorship strategies, health relationships, mental health and addiction, trauma-informed care, de-escalation and crisis intervention, communication and stigma, and community resources.
- Participate in project activities across three phases (Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation/Dissemination) and contribute to project deliverables.

REQUIREMENTS
- Lived experience of recovery and incarceration is highly valued to provide peer support.
- Strong commitment to supporting others in their journey to recovery and reentry.
- Ability to work with a diverse population and adapt to their unique needs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality.
- This is drug-free workplace.
- This is a grant-funded position with no guarantee of continued employment or funding.
- Special Requirements - Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Working Conditions - Works primarily in an office setting and/or remotely from home. Travel will be required within the region, to other correctional facilities and community partner organizations in the counties listed above.
- This is a salary position with a stipend for benefits.
