The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department plays a critical role in identifying medical issues, assessing severity, and providing immediate, life-sustaining support to patients. You will work under pressure delivering first-line care to patients admitted to our Emergency Room at Insight Hospital and Medical Center Chicago. We emphasize compassionate, respectful patient care, utilizing your advanced nursing skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to meet each patient’s unique needs. This role requires collaboration with the healthcare team to implement and monitor effective patient care plans. Key Responsibilities: Use the nursing process, critical thinking, and professional judgment to care for assigned patients. Assess patient needs and determine appropriate care requirements. Plan care and delegate tasks to ancillary personnel based on patient assessments. Evaluate patient responses and adjust care plans as necessary. Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care. Demonstrate independent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Manage complex, higher acuity patients effectively. Complete unit-specific competencies and mandatory continuing education.
