Job description
Nexa Staffing Solutions is hiring a part-time Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse in Boston, Massachusetts. This on-site nursing opportunity offers $50 per hour, with per diem and bundle opportunities available.
Position Overview
Provide safe, skilled, and compassionate care to pediatric patients who need specialized monitoring and treatment in a high-acuity PICU setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and continuously monitor pediatric patients, including vital signs and respiratory status.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns promptly.
- Assist with advanced patient care and critical care interventions.
- Educate and support patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in emergency and rapid response situations as needed.
- Help maintain a safe, positive, patient-centered environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- At least one year of RN work experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required or strongly preferred.
- Pediatric, PICU, or critical care experience preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Ability to meet facility background screening, health screening, and onboarding requirements. Additional vaccination or testing requirements may apply under facility policy.
