We are seeking a dedicated and solutions-oriented Resident Engineer to oversee highway and bridge construction projects in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. This role is critical in ensuring projects meet cost, schedule, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee engineering projects ensuring compliance with Contract and Caltrans Standard Plans and Specifications. Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports with strong technical writing skills. Develop Change Orders, respond to RFIs, and manage submittal responses. Prepare pay estimates and quantity sheets accurately. Draft letters and responses related to Potential Claim Records. Collaborate with and manage Assistant Resident Engineers effectively. Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure adherence to contract plans and specifications. Coordinate with clients, contractors, utility companies, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project success. Assist in reviewing project schedules and cost controls to maintain project timelines and budgets. Qualifications Proven experience in construction management, preferably in highway and bridge projects. Strong interpersonal skills and a solid work ethic. Ability to deliver high-quality results on time. Familiarity with Caltrans standards and public works construction requirements. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. Remote work is not eligible for this role.
