Skytech Staffing is hiring a Resident Engineer to oversee highway and bridge construction projects in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. This full-time position is suited to a solutions-oriented construction management professional with strong technical writing, coordination, and project oversight skills.
About the role
Join a construction management firm with 25 years of experience providing construction management, inspection, and materials testing services for public works projects throughout California. You will help ensure projects meet contract requirements and are completed within budget and schedule while satisfying safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee engineering projects in accordance with the contract and Caltrans Standard Plans and Specifications.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports, including change orders, RFI responses, and submittal responses.
- Prepare pay estimates and quantity sheets.
- Draft letters and responses to Potential Claim Records.
- Collaborate with and manage Assistant Resident Engineers.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and verify compliance with contract plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, utility companies, and regulatory agencies.
- Support project reviews and help resolve construction issues.
