Job description
Title: Resident Engineer Contract Duration: 3+ years Pay Rate: 100-120/hr Our client is a 25 years old Construction Management firm provides quality construction management, inspection services and materials testing for public works projects throughout California. Providing clients with professional and first-rate services with great experience and dexterity is the cornerstone of our business. We are seeking a dedicated and solutions-orientated Resident Engineer to join our team. The candidate will play a critical role in overseeing highway and bridge construction projects, and ensuring that projects are delivered within costs, schedule, safety, environmental requirements, and quality requirements. In addition to being solutions orientated, this position requires someone with strong interpersonal skills and work ethic. The candidate must have solid construction management abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a timely manner. Duties Manage and oversee engineering projects, ensuring compliance with the Contract and Caltrans Standard Plans and Specifications. Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports, demonstrating proficiency in technical writing. Develop Change Orders, RFI responses, submittal responses. Prepare pay estimates and quantity sheets. Draft letters and responses to Potential Claim Records, Collaborate and manage Assistant Resident Engineers. Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure adherence to Contract plans and specifications. Coordinate with various stakeholders, including client, contractors, utility companies, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project success. Assist in the review of project schedules and budgets while managing resources effectively. Conduct oversight of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections. Review Inspector Diaries. Skills Professional Civil Engineering License required. California Professional Civil Engineering License Strongly Desired Past experience in Caltrans Projects or Caltrans Oversight Projects is strongly desired. Experience in DOT projects of other states is acceptable. Strong understanding of construction management practices. Excellent technical writing skills for preparing reports and documentation. Strong project management skills with the ability to lead teams effectively. Experience: Resident Engineering: 6 years (Preferred) License/Certification: Professional Civil Engineering License (Required)
