Customer Service and Sales Associate – Lima, Peru

GUSANITO LECTOR IRL is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive Customer Service and Sales Associate for Librería Gusanito Lector in Lima, Peru. Help create a welcoming experience for customers of all ages while supporting the bookstore’s sales and daily operations. This is an on-site, full-time opportunity in a collaborative team environment focused on books, education, and entertainment.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the bookstore.
• Provide helpful customer service and support sales to adults and children.
• Contact and follow up with prospective customers.
• Organize bookstore inventory and assist with stock counts.
• Support and coordinate book fair activities.
• Process payments using a POS system and Yape or Plin.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in sales and customer service is required.
• Friendly, effective communication with adults and children.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience using a POS system and accepting Yape or Plin payments.
• Completed secondary education or technical studies.
• Current Peruvian DNI and applicable Certijoven or Certiadulto documentation.

Schedule and Employment Terms

• Full-time, on-site position in Lima, Lima Province, Peru.
• Monday through Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• First month is a probationary period; a three-month company contract may follow.
• Monthly pay is S/ 1200 for the first month, with a possible adjustment after the first month based on performance.
• Formal payroll registration in accordance with Peruvian law begins in the second month.
• Payments are made twice monthly.
