Semi-Skilled Lab Technician

To perform laboratory sampling and testing, validating the accuracy of reporting to ensure effective quality control of raw materials, in-process production, and final products in line with company standards and Good Laboratory Practices. Key Responsibilities • Perform routine chemical and analytical testing on production, storage tanks, tankers, and process samples including: - Urgence and Moisture analysis - FFA, Colour, Moisture, Sediment analysis - Centrifuge analysis - GC analysis as required - Phosphorus analysis - Turbidity analysis - Extraction analysis • Conduct analysis on crude oil, soybean meal, soya gums, white flakes, expander collets, miscella, sludge, and related samples. • Perform sampling and grading of raw materials (including beans). • Verify and compare analytical results against relevant standards. • Accurately record and report results on required systems and platforms. • Communicate deviations and quality variations to the Senior Lab Tech and Quality Manager. • Assist with preparation of samples for external laboratories. • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment. • Prepare control solutions. • Maintain laboratory consumables inventory. • Ensure cleaning of glassware and laboratory equipment. • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the laboratory. • Adhere strictly to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and safety standards. Minimum Requirements • Matric (Grade 12) • Minimum 1 year laboratory experience • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) • Diploma in Chemistry or Similar qualification would be an advantage • Prior experience in a food or oil processing facility will be an advantage • Experience working on Perten DA7250 will be an advantage • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Good numerical and statistical ability • High attention to detail and precision • Strong organisational and planning skills • Punctual, reliable, and able to work in a team environment • Technical aptitude Join Now!
