Senior Accountant

Sterling Search Partners is helping a client with its search for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and improving accounting processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closePrepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliationsMaintain and ensure accuracy of the general ledgerAnalyze financial statements and explain variances vs. budget/forecastSupport preparation of financial reports for managementEnsure compliance with GAAP (or IFRS if applicable)Assist with internal and external audits, including documentation and schedulesReview work of staff accountants and provide guidance/mentorshipImprove and document accounting processes and controlsPartner with FP&A and operational teams on financial insightsManage fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions (if applicable)
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)CPA preferred (or actively pursuing)3-5+ years of accounting experience (public accounting or corporate)Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
