Job Description
The Associate is expected to manage all aspects of the due diligence process, partnering directly with prospective investors, CRMs, and other stakeholders. This includes creating initial diligence materials and deliverables during fundraising, including RFPs, DDQs, and other materials, as well as coordinating client calls, meetings, asset tours, and on-site meetings to advance investor due diligence processes. Over time, the Associate is expected to develop significant expertise in the firm’s infrastructure and energy product offerings and serve as a client-facing contact, working directly with investors to guide them through the due diligence process.
The role’s responsibilities include:
Developing and managing the due diligence deliverables required to advance clients during fundraising, including DDQs, RFPs, RFIs, quantitative datasets, IDD/ODD presentations, and related materialsCompleting the quarterly suite of deliverables for consultants and providing regular data and content updates to consultant databasesWorking closely with stakeholders, especially the Investor Relations team and investment professionals, to respond to investor diligence requests and provide nuanced technical materials that advance the fund diligence processPlanning and overseeing interactions between prospective investors and investment teams or other subject matter experts, including Tax, Legal, Operations, and other teams, as part of the fund due diligence process. This includes managing calls, meetings, asset tours, on-site meetings, due diligence days, and related activitiesCreating initial due diligence materials prior to fund launch, including standard DDQs, investor presentations, PPMs, case studies, quantitative datasets, and related materialsBuilding a thorough understanding of the firm’s infrastructure and energy products, investment strategies, portfolio, corporate structure, history, and operations to facilitate the accurate and consistent creation of diligence content; developing a deep understanding of Brookfield’s infrastructure and energy business and the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate the Brookfield story to investorsNavigating and effectively utilizing the firm’s suite of tools and resources to respond to client requests, including the RFP content database (Loopio), standard quantitative datasets, HR and personnel data, performance metrics, and related resourcesDemonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work directly with clients, CRMs, senior investment professionals, and other team members under tight deadlines and across jurisdictionsManaging other client-facing materials and channels related to fund due diligence, including updating consultant databases and maintaining marketing collateral during the fundraising period, such as pitchbook presentations, standard DDQs, case studies, and related materials
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business management, marketing, communications, or other relevant discipline
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
6+ years of experience in private fund marketing, due diligence, client services or other fundraising or client function. Experience in the infrastructure/energy sector is strongly preferredFamiliarity with investment products and services, including a strong understanding of the infrastructure/energy asset class; experience in an institutional private fund marketing environment is highly desired Strong project management skills, with experience in managing timelines, resources, and stakeholders across multiple projects simultaneously; experience in a global environment working with stakeholders across numerous jurisdictions and time zones strongly preferredExperience in high-volume processes and technology enabled solutions
KEY COMPETENCIES/BEHAVIOURS REQUIRED:
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in EnglishMust have good technical knowledge and familiarity with private funds generally; ideally a solid understanding of the LP mindset and needs when conducting due diligence, including familiarity with distinct institutional client types (pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, family offices, etc.)High attention to detail in written materials and quantitative data is crucialStrong understanding of due diligence processes, with project management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard is essential; highly organized with a proven ability to handle multiple concurrent assignmentsMust work well in a team environment, with excellent interpersonal skills to engage senior professionals and liaise with global teams across the firmExperience in relevant software tools or equivalents is a plus (Salesforce, Loopio, PowerBI, Mercatus, Seismic)Proficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent planning and organizational skillsIdeally strong relationship management skills and exposure to working across multiple countries, being able to flex communication style to diverse geographies and investorsShares information with team members in a clear and concise mannerProactively seeks opportunities to get involved in more challenging projectsAbility to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced and team-oriented environmentSelf-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development
Salary: $160,000 - $180,000
Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
