Job description
Tasks
- Process FOIA requests and administrative appeals.
- Conduct detailed document reviews and apply FOIA exemptions.
- Perform legal redactions and quality control reviews.
- Coordinate interagency consultations and referrals.
- Support FOIA litigation, including Vaughn indexes and legal documentation.
- Maintain case records, track deadlines, and support reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with an active U.S. bar license.
- 4+ years of experience supporting FOIA operations within or for a component of the Executive Office of the President.
- 2+ years of federal FOIA processing experience, including interagency consultations and clearances.
- Strong knowledge of FOIA, the Privacy Act, and Exemptions 5 and 6.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and eDiscovery tools such as Nuix Discover.
