About the role
Northwood is a modern space infrastructure company developing advanced communications technology and a global network of phased array ground stations for satellite missions. Northwood seeks a Senior Supplier Development Engineer as its first quality-focused hire. The role builds supplier quality processes and supports high-reliability manufacturing for satellite ground stations.
The role establishes quality systems, develops the supply base, and partners with engineering and operations to help ensure products are designed and built for long-term performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement the company’s first supplier quality assurance system, documentation, and workflows.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for RF, PCBA, mechanical, and electromechanical components; conduct supplier audits, performance reviews, and corrective action processes.
- Collaborate with product design and manufacturing teams on DFM, NPI, and pilot builds.
- Help define supplier KPIs for quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness, and establish reporting mechanisms.
- Drive resolution of supplier quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action (NCR/CAPA).
- Support development of incoming inspection plans.
