Software Engineer (Security) in San Francisco, CA

We are seeking a dedicated Software Engineer specializing in Security to join our team in San Francisco, California. This full-time role offers an annual salary of USD $275,000. You will play a critical role in advancing our software security initiatives by designing and implementing robust protections against threats and vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement secure software applications and systems.
• Conduct security and vulnerability assessments on existing applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Research and develop innovative security tools to enhance application protection.
• Participate in code reviews to identify and mitigate security risks.
• Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and vulnerabilities.
• Document security protocols and guidelines for development teams.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience in software development and security engineering.
• Strong knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, and security tools.
• Familiarity with relevant programming languages and development frameworks.
• Experience conducting vulnerability analysis and risk management.
• Industry-standard security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) are highly preferred.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience focused on security-related tasks.

This position requires close collaboration with product management, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure security is integrated at every stage of software development. You will report directly to senior leadership.
