Software Engineer (Security) in San Francisco, CA

We are seeking a dedicated Software Engineer specializing in Security to join our team in San Francisco, California. This full-time role offers an annual salary of USD $275,000. You will play a key role in enhancing the security of our software applications by designing, developing, and implementing robust protection against threats and vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement secure software applications and systems.
• Conduct security and vulnerability assessments on existing applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Research and develop innovative security tools to enhance application protection.
• Participate in code reviews to identify and mitigate security risks.
• Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and vulnerabilities.
• Document security protocols and guidelines for the development team.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience in software development and security engineering.
• Strong knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, and security tools.
• Familiarity with relevant programming languages and development frameworks.
• Experience in vulnerability analysis and risk management.
• Industry-standard security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) highly preferred.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years in software engineering with a focus on security-related tasks.

This role requires close collaboration with product management, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure security is integrated at every stage of software development. You will report directly to the leadership team.
