Software Lead -Azure Cloud

About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to lead the design, development, delivery, and operational excellence of a cloud-native enterprise software product running on Microsoft Azure. This role combines hands-on technical leadership, architecture guidance, people leadership, mentoring, and strategic technology planning. The Engineering Lead will work closely with Product Management, Solution Architecture, DevOps, Security, UX, Data, and AI Engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, reliable, and AI-enabled software solutions.
Key Responsibilities• Lead technical delivery for one or more product domains, including architecture, design, development, release planning, and execution.• Guide architecture and design decisions for cloud-native solutions running on Microsoft Azure.• Ensure adherence to engineering standards, enterprise architecture principles, security requirements, and software quality practices.• Drive code reviews, design reviews, testing strategies, and engineering best practices across development teams.• Collaborate with Product Managers and Architects to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.• Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and delivery execution.• Identify and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, quality gaps, and delivery challenges.• Lead development of microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.• Partner with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, observability, monitoring, and platform reliability practices.• Drive adoption of AI capabilities, including Generative AI, AI Agents, RAG, Copilot technologies, Azure AI services, AI Search, vector databases, and intelligent workflow automation.• Establish responsible AI practices covering governance, security, transparency, testing, and compliance.• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams while promoting accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.• Communicate technical direction, delivery plans, risks, and status effectively to business and technology stakeholders.
Required Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.• 10+ years of professional software development experience.• 3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams.• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale software products.• Experience operating mission-critical applications in cloud environments.
Technical Skills• Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as C#, Java, TypeScript, or Python.• Experience with API design, microservices architecture, software design patterns, and distributed systems.• Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Azure App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure Container Registry, Azure API Management, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Service Bus/Event Grid, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.• Experience with CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM, automated testing and deployment, DevSecOps, and cloud observability.• Working knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, AI Agent architectures, Azure AI Services, Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI Service, vector databases, semantic search, Responsible AI, and AI evaluation techniques.
