Spanish to English Medical Interpreter - Mexico City

LanguagesCX is seeking a dedicated and experienced Spanish to English Medical Interpreter to join our team in Mexico City, Mexico. This full-time role is essential in bridging communication gaps in healthcare, ensuring Spanish-speaking patients and English-speaking medical professionals communicate effectively for optimal patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accurate interpretation services during medical consultations, examinations, and treatments between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers.
• Effectively interpret complex medical terminology to ensure clear understanding for both patients and medical staff.
• Assist in translating medical documents while preserving the accuracy and integrity of the original content.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interpreting interactions.
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance interpreting skills and medical knowledge.
• Collaborate with healthcare personnel to clarify communication and prevent misunderstandings.
• Document and report any issues encountered during interpretation to support continuous service improvement.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Translation, Linguistics, or related field.
• Fluency in Spanish and English with excellent comprehension and oral communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare protocols.
• Previous experience as a medical interpreter in healthcare settings preferred.
• Relevant certifications in medical interpreting are an advantage.
• Proficiency with interpretation and documentation software tools.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in medical interpretation.

Compensation: $5.5 per hour
