Job description
Every Special Child is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for the 2026-27 school year in Santa Monica, California. This full-time role offers an enriching opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs in a nurturing and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique learning requirements.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive and effective learning experience.
- Create and maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment that fosters social, emotional, and academic growth.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education (required).
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP development and individualized instruction strategies.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and educational software.
- State teaching certification in Special Education (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a special education setting (preferred).
