Special Education Teacher (SY 2026–27) — Santa Monica, CA

Every Special Child is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher for the 2026–27 school year in Santa Monica, California. Help students with diverse learning needs grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a supportive, inclusive school environment. This is an on-site position reporting to the school’s Special Education Coordinator. Compensation is $60 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
• Assess and evaluate student progress, then adjust instructional strategies as needed.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to provide cohesive student support.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth.
• Deliver direct instruction using varied teaching methods and educational technologies.
• Maintain accurate student records and communicate regularly with relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in professional development and stay current with special education best practices.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education is required.
• Strong communication skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Knowledge of IEP development and individualized instruction strategies.
• Experience supporting students with disabilities is preferred.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and educational software is preferred.
• State teaching certification in Special Education is preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in a special education setting is preferred.
