Sr Engineer – Anhydrous Ammonia Specialist

About the role

Jewel-Osco is seeking an Anhydrous Ammonia Specialist for the Melrose Park DC. The role is responsible for managing warehouse facilities, equipment, and building and facility associates to support safe, clean, accurate, economical, and efficient operations.

The position has a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week responsibility and requires that functions follow Company, Distribution Center, Department, and Federal, State, and Local agency guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Repair material handling equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
• Perform maintenance and repairs throughout the Melrose Park Complex, including automated and mechanized material handling equipment such as conveyors, cranes, and balers.
• Complete general building repairs, including lights, plumbing, and doors, and maintain grounds, pavement, fencing, and parking areas.
• Perform snowplow and snow removal work and apply ice melt.
• Identify recyclable items and separate them as necessary, including scrap metal and iron and all types of batteries.
• Have basic knowledge of fire protection and suppression system operations in all Complex facilities.

Requirements

• Experience working with anhydrous ammonia.
• Ability to operate work-related equipment and tools, including hand and power tools, powered equipment, and forklifts.
