Staff Accountant

About the role

NOREAS provides scientific, engineering, and environmental services to the Department of Defense, federal agencies, utility companies, and private clients across the U.S.

Tasks

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist with month-end and year-end close
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Maintain accurate general ledger records
• Help prepare financial statements and management reports
• Support audits, tax filings, and compliance work
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls
• Work in Unanet project accounting software

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required); MAcc a strong plus
• 0–5 years of accounting experience (recent grads welcome!)
• Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
• Proficiency in Excel; Unanet or QuickBooks experience a plus
• Government contracting experience a plus
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines
• Clear communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Interest in pursuing a CPA license is a plus

• Full-time

Pay

• $65,000–$85,000/year, based on education and experience
