Job description
About the role
L.A. Unified Careers is seeking a woodwind instrument technician to repair, overhaul, and adjust woodwind instruments.
Responsibilities
- Repair, overhaul, and adjust clarinets, flutes, oboes, English horns, bassoons, saxophones, piccolos, and sopranos.
- Fit springs, straighten hinge tubes, replace screws, and regulate and tune instruments.
- Tighten, straighten, and remove dents from instruments; perform soft and silver soldering; clean and polish instruments; and repair instrument cases.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency.
- Two years of paid experience in the repair of woodwind instruments. Completion of a music instrument repair certificate, diploma, or equivalent credits from an educational institution may substitute for one year of the required experience.
