Okay, one of the tools, I use so many tools to encourage my students. I use flashcards, I use props, I use toys, I use games, I use gift cards, and this helps the students easily interact. Like I said earlier, when I start my class, I start with a little warm-up questions and also daily routines like brush. Did you brush your teeth today? Did you brush your teeth today? And if a student say, yes, I go ahead and say, wow, that's good. Sending a gift. Do you like cake? Do you like ice cream? Do you like flowers? Tell me, what do you like? And when the students mention what he or she likes, I make sure I get that gift and put it there in the screen. So I use a lot of image. I use a lot of games, interactions. This helps them easily interact during the class. So yeah.

So in my class, I'm usually my classes are interactive. I use a lot, lots of flashcards. I use a lot of pictures. I use a lot of fun games. I use a lot of toys. If it is a class in class, I use class in kids methods. And this helps the students feel at home. Take for instance, I'm having a class with a very shy student. So when I start a class, if a student is shy, you can tell, you know, but I start with a little warm up and also ask them about their daily routine. Let me ask you, did you brush your teeth today? Did you brush your teeth today? And this helps the child feel at home. And before one or two or three minutes, they are, they are already participating. And one of the things I also do is I give to my students, you know, I can ask you, what do you like? Some will say I like cakes. Some will say I like ice cream, candy. So while teaching, I carefully get the pictures for my drive and send it to them in the class. Like, look, I have a cake for you. Thank you. Your answer is correct. You're so smart. And this helps them feel at home and engage during the classes.

So in my class, I use a lot of digital tools, such as classing tools. I use PowerPoint. How do I use PowerPoint? I download a lot of image, beautiful, colorful images to try to use it during the classes. Take, for instance, I am teaching a little child animal. So I make sure I have different slides of animals. Yes, I use repetition. I might have three slides of cats, different colors, different backgrounds, and the next slide will be dog. Different colors, different background. And the next slide maybe, let's say, a rabbit. Different colors, different pictures. And this helps the students understand the words and repeats the words throughout the class. It makes my class very, very interactive, fun, and interesting. So, yeah.

ESL Teacher

So, as an ESL teacher, we learn every day. So in one of our class gathering, I noticed there were new teachers that were having difficulties to engage with students that are still learners. And I told them, it's easy when you use a lot of hand gestures. When you ask, what can you see? What can you see? Come and look, what can you see? Can you do the clear cup and try to make them know you're waiting for them to talk. So a lot of teachers were so happy with this outcome because they now are able to communicate very well with those students that are still learning. And also help them to read. Like you say, I can run. I can run. Now your turn. Say, I can run. Good! That's beautiful! So yeah, I had that. It was very nice. We're so happy after the whole meeting. They chatted with me to tell me how helpful this method works for them. So yeah, it's good to always collaborate with your fellow ESL teacher. There must be something you're gonna learn.

Okay, so after having so many classes with my students, like five to six, depending sometimes on what the parent wants, I try to create a PDF format with all these books into one, beginning from each subject, at least three or four questions, simple questions to see how well they understand, they can speak, and they can read and pronounce. Okay, for instance, the name John is my student, so first I pick like three or four vocabularies, very short ones, watch his pronunciations, then I pick at least three or four warm-up exercises. Like I said, it all depends on the topics I have taught the students and see if he understands me in like, can you run? Can you jump? Can you swing? Then I pick like five different topics that have to do with pictures. I bring in these pictures into the classroom and see if they can identify these pictures and tell me what they can see, what they feel, and what can you say about this picture? What do you understand with this picture? Most times, they're able to understand, most times they're not able to. So when they're able to, I compliment them, give them gifts, beautiful gifts, but if they don't, I gently try to explain to them these words using, if possible, more pictures to help explain the topic. So it's a beautiful, very, very beautiful moment when at least you were satisfied.

So yeah, after having several classes with some of my clients and students, I try to compile a PDF format with all their test books to make the one PDF format where I ask them questions on the topics that we have previously talked. So let me pick a thing. Let's say John. So after having different classes with different students.

Transcripción del Video 7

So in one of my classes, so let me use a practical example. One of my students, um, and a fake name, John. So after having several classes with John, I compile the five classes I did in a row to in a PDF format, format, sorry. In this PDF format,

Transcripción del Video 8

Okay, in one of my classes, after several classes with my students, so let's call the student John, okay? So after speaking to John, having different classes with John for some time, I picked some of the spokes that I've worked with him with, using the app to narrow these questions to his ability. For instance, most of the things we did during the time is things that he needs to work like, I can, I cannot, no, I can't.

ESL Teacher

So as an ESL teacher, I am very happy to meet different students from different backgrounds with different levels in English. And during my classes, first I try to introduce some warm-up activities. This helps me to understand the level that the students are. So I ask simple questions like, what's your favourite, what's your name, what's your favourite colour, what do you do for fun? Do you like, do you know how to run? Do you know how to jump? This helps me to understand first the level they are, how well they can speak, and how well they can understand me. I use a lot of pictures, a lot of hand gestures, just to make sure they understand me more and engage more in the lesson. So, that's about that.

ESL Teacher

So, as an ESL teacher, I get to meet lovely students all over the world and different knowledge of English, and I try as much as I can to make sure I get to understand the level in English before I proceed. So during my warm-up, I ask simple questions, like, what's your name? What's your favorite color? What do you do in your spare time? Sometimes they don't even understand these words if they are beginners, but I use a lot of hand gestures, a lot of PPR, and this helps them more to express themselves. So during my class, I use pictures, hand gestures, repetitions, continuous fun, bringing pictures to help improve their knowledge and understanding, so yeah.

ESL Teacher

So, as an ESL teacher, I get to meet a lot of students from different backgrounds, different race, different country, different diversity, and I try to make my class as fun as possible. From the beginning of my class, I ask simple questions, warm-up questions like, what's your name? What's your favorite color? What do you like to do in your free time? And this helps me to understand my student's level in English, are they beginners, what they can do, and what they cannot do. And during the class, I bring in this method and use it to...

ESL Teacher

So, as an ESL teacher, I get to meet a lot of different students from all over the world, from different countries and backgrounds and diversity, and what I do in such classes is first I try to help the students speak. The first question I ask my student is, what's your name? And they tell me, and I'd be like, what's your favorite color? If the students are young learners, I use a lot of hand gestures. I use a lot of PPR, and this helps them to relax more and see me as a friend. So from this one to three minutes free talk, I use this to ascertain the level of the students. So when I do this, I make sure I engage them, the ones that are still trying to speak English, trying to, that are still struggling to express themselves. I know.

ESL Teacher

So as an ESL teacher, I get to meet a lot of lovely students all over the world with different diversity, different backgrounds, and different levels of English. In one of my classes, I have a different student. It was a group of four, and these students had different levels of English. So first I did was make the class lively. What's your name? What's your favorite animal? What do you do after class? Do you have a pet? And while I do this, I try to help them to speak. Even if the student is still learning how to speak, I pick one or two things from them, then while in class, get beautiful pictures of their favorite animals. Can use these pictures to enhance the class to be a very interactive class. So at the end of the class, most of the students were able to identify these animals and were able to make simple sentences. It wasn't easy, but I was able to achieve that during my classes. So yeah, thank you.

ESL Teacher

So as an ESL teacher, you get to meet a lot of students from different backgrounds and different diversity and knowledge. So the first thing I do is try to make the class as friendly as possible, focusing mostly on gestures, especially if it is a young learner. I try by trying to, when I do this, I try to ascertain the level of the students and using this information that I've gathered because from the beginning, I ask questions like, what's your name, your favorite color, your favorite animal, what do you like to do when you're not in class, what's one thing you like to do. And from those questions, I know exactly how to tell on my class. So I pick a topic that, for instance, animal. Like in one of my class, we have different diverse students, I pick a general topic, animal. First I ask them, what's the favorite animal he is? They told me, so I make sure I bring cute little pictures of these animals put together and we did a lot of hand gestures, repetitions of these words, and also try helping them to make simple sentences using these words. For some students, it was difficult, for some it was easy, but at the end of the class, all the students were able to make sentences using the word animal, picking their favorite animals.

ESL Teacher

So as an ESL teacher, you'll get to meet different students with different levels of English and different behavior and attitude. So one of my classes, I had different diverse students with different knowledge of English and level of English. I picked the topic animal. In this class, I shared a lot of pictures. Our first, I asked them, what's your favorite animal? They told me. I picked different students' animal, provided the pictures for them. And from these pictures, we did repetition of those animals. We did gesture movement. How does the student, how does

Transcripción del Video 16

So one of the successful engaging lessons that I've created covering diverse learning skills among different students was a class I had with different groups of students that were in different levels. So I used the topic animal. From this topic animal, I created simple questions, used pictures, repetitions, gestures, and different forms of questions to make them all engaged during the class. So I channeled those questions down to the level. When a student is still trying to make a sentence, but because they are still a learner, a beginner in English, I go ahead to make sure the student complete the sentence by helping them the best way I can. Class went on well.

English Teacher

When I started teaching English to young learners, I noticed that a lot of learners got easily distracted, and I spoke to my fellow educators, and one of them taught me something that was very helpful. So when you are teaching a child that is in between the age of, let's say, 3, 4, 5, and especially when they are beginners, you need to make a lot of hand gestures. When you ask them a question, you make the ear gesture and wait patiently for the answer. And when you want to say something like big, big, you have to make a lot of gestures. And these are one of the things I learned while I decided to try to speak to my fellow teachers to know what I was doing wrong. And one time, I also helped a teacher who was having difficulty making a child to participate during the class. I just told her, whatever you do, don't act smart. You have to keep smiling and smiling and try everything, giving props, making them laugh, exaggerations, and all those things make them wanted. You know, kids can be tired sometimes. And if you are not a very funny or frankly-looking teacher, you may end up losing them entirely during the classes. So it's very good to collaborate with other educators to enhance one's teaching.

ESL Teacher

Okay, so as an ESL teacher, you will encounter a lot of challenges with students, and it's normal. So I remember one encounter I had with one of my students. He didn't want to participate at all. According to him, he just wanted to eat, and probably his parents wanted him to take the class that time. So during the class, I used a lot of props to make him happy. I used a lot of gifting, flashcards, and when you use the classing, there is this gifting method that when you press, it makes a sound. So if I ask him a question, I wait patiently, and when he answers, I act very excited, and I give him a lot of gifts, both visual kits, a gift, props, and a lot of things to get him engaged. So before the class end, he participated during the class activities. He forgot he was hungry. He was so excited and wasn't really happy when the class came to an end. So yeah, it's very normal to have challenges when you teach.

ESL Teacher

So as an ESL teacher, you are going to encounter a lot of challenges while in class. One of the most, one of the challenges I faced one time was a student who didn't want to participate. So according to the student, he said, I'm hungry, and because of that, he wasn't interested in the class. So I used a lot of props to make him laugh. I used a lot of pictures to get him engaged. And using class, I used the gift icon where you just click it and it makes a sound, and the student was very happy and participated fully during the class. So these are one of the challenges you can face as a student, that you can find one of the...

So one of the successful lesson plans that I've made or developed for my students was for a student that was six years old. The student was still having issues with understanding English and was having major difficulties in speaking and pronunciation. So first I developed a lesson plan with my daily activities. And I used questions like, what do you do in the morning? I used pictures, gestures, repetitions of words like brush, brush, brush my teeth. And at the end of the class, the student was so happy and was very, very independent to remember some of these words that I taught in the class.

One time, I worked with a student who was shy and found it difficult to express ideas in English. I started with simple questions about familiar topics, such as their daily routines and favorite activities. I listened carefully, gave them enough time to answer, and used follow-up questions to keep the conversations going. When the students struggled to find the right word, I provided simple prompts and gently corrected mistakes without interrupting their confidence. As the conversation continued, the student became more...
