Pantera Capital is the first institutional investment firm focused exclusively on bitcoin, other digital currencies, and companies in the blockchain tech ecosystem. Pantera launched the first cryptocurrency fund in the United States in 2013. The firm subsequently launched the first exclusively-blockchain venture fund. In 2017, Pantera was the first firm to offer an early-stage token fund. Pantera manages $3.5bn across three strategies – passive, hedge, and venture – exclusively focused on bitcoin, other digital currencies, and companies in the blockchain tech ecosystem.Pantera is hiring an Accounting Junior or Associate to support the management companies. The ideal candidate will have experience with the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable processing, compiling and reviewing financial information, preparing financial paperwork, and maintaining records. This role will also assist with general administrative tasks. This role requires presence at least three days a week in our San Juan office.
ResponsibilitiesReview, process, and record vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and other accounting transactions accurately and timelyAssist with monthly close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting supportPerform bank, cash, prepaid, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities and systemsTrack outstanding payables, payment support, and cash activityWork with large data sets and assist with consolidating accounting data across multiple systems and reportsMaintain and understand general ledgers for management companies and related entitiesAssist with quarterly financial reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting functionsResearch and help resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciliation differences with guidance from the management team membersSupport annual audits, tax return preparation, and informative returnsAssist with ad hoc accounting and operational projects as assigned while taking ownership and support operational needs across multiple areas when needed
Excel & Data SkillsExperience working with:Pivot TablesXLOOKUP/VLOOKUPSUMIF/SUMIFSData cleanup and consolidation
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related fieldFluency in English; Spanish is a plus2–5 years of accounting experience in public accounting firms and/or private companiesStrong understanding of accounting operations, accrual methodology, and U.S. GAAPStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAble to identify situations and escalate to their managerProactive mindset with the ability to identify issues and take initiativeAbility to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and timelinessStrong technical skills in Excel and NetSuite or similar accounting softwareAble to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to support accounting and operational processes
