About the role
Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Product Development Design Manager (DfMA) to join its Technology & Innovation team. The role focuses on developing industrialized construction products, configurable building systems, and digitally enabled delivery workflows across DfMA initiatives.
The Technology & Innovation Group brings together engineering, manufacturing, digital, product development, and systems thinking to create construction products and delivery models. The role supports innovation projects from concept development through prototyping, manufacturing implementation, and live project deployment.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of industrialized construction products and systems.
- Develop standardized products, assemblies, and configurable building systems.
- Define technical requirements and guide designs from concept through delivery.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary product development and technical delivery teams across engineering, digital, manufacturing, and project delivery.
- Support BIM-to-manufacturing and design automation workflows.
- Champion DfMA principles and help embed them.
- Help transform project-based construction into scalable, platform-based delivery.
