About the role

Cresta is hiring an estimator specializing in mechanical and plumbing (MEP) trades. The role involves high-volume quantity takeoffs for ductwork, piping, plumbing systems, and insulation applications across commercial and residential U.S. projects.

The work includes a backlog of active jobs, with construction drawings ranging from minimal filing sets to 100% CD sets. The role uses FastWRAP and advanced Excel models.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical and plumbing construction drawings to define scope requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for ductwork, piping, plumbing, and mechanical insulation, including linear feet, square feet, and surface areas.
• Use FastWRAP to extract, organize, and calculate material quantities daily.
• Transfer takeoff quantities into internal Excel spreadsheets for pricing, cost modeling, and proposal preparation.
• Manage approximately 30 active estimating projects simultaneously.

Requirements

• Strong technical blueprint reading skills.
• Extensive experience in MEP estimating, volume takeoffs (metrados), and cost modeling.
• The role is described as suitable for Mechanical Engineers, Civil Engineers, or Architects.
