About the role
IBM is seeking a Data Governance Consultant with experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks or operating models.
Responsibilities
- Configure a data catalog, including business glossary, asset onboarding, lineage and stewardship workflows.
- Define data quality rules with business stakeholders and deliver scorecards or dashboards to monitor and report quality over time.
- Partner with data engineers to implement and automate data quality rules and monitoring on cloud data platforms.
- Facilitate workshops with business and technical stakeholders, and design communication, training and change plans to drive adoption.
- Run data issue management processes, from triage and root cause analysis with technical teams to remediation and closure.
Requirements
- Strong experience in data governance or data management, including at least one client or enterprise engagement designing a governance framework or operating model and leading its implementation.
- Hands-on configuration of at least one data catalog: Atlan, Collibra, Alation or Purview.
- Experience defining data quality rules and delivering data quality scorecards or dashboards.
- Working SQL and experience partnering with data engineers on cloud data platforms; Snowflake is preferred.
- Proven experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and designing plans that drive adoption.
- Experience managing data issues through triage, root cause analysis, remediation and closure.
- Advanced English is a must.
- Preferred: Atlan, Collibra or CDMP certification, or equivalent vendor certification in data governance or data quality.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with data quality or observability tools such as Monte Carlo, Atlan DQ, Soda, Great Expectations or dbt.
- Preferred: Exposure to AI governance frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act or ISO/IEC 42001, or to Master Data Management initiatives.
