Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain robust database systems to ensure high performance, security, and availability aligned with company standards. Monitor and optimize database performance by identifying bottlenecks and applying effective tuning strategies to improve query response times by up to 30%. Collaborate closely with software developers to optimize SQL queries and enhance application data access efficiency. Conduct regular backups and recovery operations, safeguarding critical data and minimizing downtime risks. Perform comprehensive data modeling and database design, gathering requirements from stakeholders to support scalable solutions. Document all database processes and changes meticulously to ensure compliance with industry best practices and audit readiness. Participate actively in team meetings, sharing insights and strategies to continuously improve database infrastructure and workflows. What We're Looking For Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. 3-5 years of proven experience in database engineering or administration. Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle database management systems. Expertise in database performance tuning, clustering, and replication techniques. Solid understanding of data modeling principles and best practices. Preferred: Experience with cloud-based database solutions such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL. Industry certifications like Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Database Administrator. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
