Design Intern

Time to make art, not coffee.
We’re looking for a talented, motivated Design Intern with a killer portfolio and obsessive attention to detail. This isn’t a “sit in the corner and resize banners” internship (ok, maybe some ad resizing). You’ll work directly with our Creative, Strategy, and Technology teams to help bring real campaigns and brands to life.
If you tweak type for fun.If bad spacing bothers you.If you care way too much about alignment.If you push ideas further than required and polish them until they’re undeniable, we want to see your work.
What You’ll Do:Collaborate with Creative, Strategy, and Technology teams to develop smart, innovative solutionsConcept original ideas that simplify complex problemsExecute visual design from concept through final productionPresent and defend your work in internal reviewsFollow brand guidelines and best practices across multiple client brandsMaintain clean, organized files according to Recess standardsDeliver high-quality work within defined timelinesObsess over craft and final output quality
What We’re Looking For:College-level experience in design, graphic design, visual communication, or related fieldA multi-faceted portfolio (branding, digital, social, motion, print, etc)Strong understanding of design fundamentals (typography, color, layout, hierarchy)Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative SuiteAbility to take ideas from concept to executionClear communication skills and comfort in critique sessionsA desire to push beyond “expected” creativeEnsure the quality of the end product
Internship DetailsPaid ($17–$20 per hour, depending on experience)16–40 hours per week, depending on availabilityHybrid / In-person (Northeast Ohio)4-month term, with potential for extension or longer-term roleWe’re open to recent grads, soon-to-be grads, or current students as long as the work is strong.
