Determine the scope of assigned projects and utilize software programs to create the electrical system designs including lighting, power distribution, emergency generation systems, fire alarm, security, or other electrical systems. Determine cost-effective system layouts, quantities/sizes, and specifications, and verify code compliance of the system designs. Preparation and layout of BIM drawings and coordination with all other disciplines at all phases of project production, including schematic design phase, design development phase, permitting phase, and construction documents phase. Perform construction administration tasks including, but not limited to, site observations, shop drawing review, and preparation of punch lists. Define appropriate project scope and ensure it is accurately reflected in the contract documents. Proactively manage any possible scope of work variances to ensure client satisfaction and that projects stay on track. Maintain excellent business relationships and communication with clients, partners, architects, owners, other design and construction professionals, and various code officials regarding the overall engineering project, associated assignments, and action items. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering design of commercial buildings preferably in aviation, higher education, health care, hospitality, entertainment, or governmental facilities. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), or Engineer in Training (EIT), preferred. At least 2 years of experience coordinating with multi-discipline engineering teams. Knowledge of local, state, and national codes, including other aspects of laws, regulations, and potential liabilities affecting the practice of engineering. Revit MEP proficiency required, and familiarity with other engineering software programs.
