About the role
Venteon is seeking an Engineering Manager for a leading automotive supplier near the Lima, Ohio area. Previous engineering management experience in an automotive manufacturing plant is required, along with metal stamping and tool and die expertise.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and direct process engineers, tool room team members and industrial engineers to help ensure tooling programs meet or exceed customer expectations for product quality and quantity.
- Establish duties and responsibilities for positions reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.
- Continuously improve in-plant and advanced engineering functions.
- Interface with customers, corporate and plant engineering to resolve quality or quantity concerns.
- Select, develop, motivate and train qualified, skilled team members to support technical goals.
- Assist other departments with engineering and technical support or tooling as needed.
- Assist with plant and corporate engineering functions and tool shop build and design programs, including O.S.H.A. regulations, ergonomics and personnel and equipment safety.
- Oversee tooling and equipment quality and efficiency, plant engineering, maintenance, engineering and containerizing.
- Lead and support SPECS, TQM, C.F.T. and continuous improvement programs.
- Comply with quality and environmental system requirements and implement applicable Environmental System Programs.
- Maintain or designate responsibility for Material Safety Data Sheets, proper container labeling and new chemical reviews.
Requirements
- Previous engineering management experience in an automotive manufacturing plant is required.
- Metal stamping and tool and die expertise is required.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a journeyman's card in tool and die is preferred.
