MAU is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Manager for our client in Inman, SC.As an Environmental Health & Safety Manager, you will lead environmental, health, safety, process safety, compliance, emergency response, and continuous improvement programs to reduce risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen site EHS performance. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Required Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field5+ years of Environmental Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environmentDemonstrated EHS program leadership experience
Preferred Education and ExperienceProfessional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMMExperience facilitating Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), HAZOP studies, and supporting Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and Process Safety Management (PSM) programsExperience with ACC Responsible Care and/or RC 14001 systemsExperience developing or maintaining OSHA VPP STAR status in a PSM-covered facilityHazardous materials response knowledge, including HazMat Technician-level trainingConfined space rescue experienceFirst Aid/CPR certificationExperience in an organized labor or union environment
General RequirementsKnowledge of applicable environmental, safety, transportation, and security regulationsAbility to manage permitting, reporting, inspections, auditing, and recordkeeping activitiesStrong coaching, employee engagement, and problem-solving skillsExperience utilizing leading and lagging metrics to drive performance improvementsWorking knowledge of process safety technical aspects, including P&IDs, emergency relief systems, suppression systems, facility siting, and recognized industry standards such as ANSI, API, and NFPAAbility to conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actionsExperience supporting industrial hygiene monitoring and exposure assessments
Essential FunctionsLead site Environmental Health & Safety strategy and daily execution activitiesCoach leaders and employees to identify hazards, reduce risk, and strengthen the EHS cultureEnsure compliance with environmental, safety, transportation, and security regulations and internal requirementsMaintain required compliance documentation and recordsServe as the primary site contact for regulatory agencies and insurance carriersManage permitting, reporting, inspections, and follow-up activitiesOwn EHS management systems, audits, inspections, action tracking processes, and compliance calendarsMonitor and report EHS performance and trends using leading and lagging metricsLead incident and near-miss investigationsConduct root-cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actionsVerify effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure timely closure of action itemsSupport safe work execution through permit reviews and approvalsParticipate in management of change reviews, design reviews, project reviews, job hazard analyses, and risk assessmentsLead and sustain Process Safety Management programsManage Management of Change (MOC) processes and PSM auditsFacilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and HAZOP reviews and support LOPA activities as neededGovern and track PSM action items to completionSupport industrial hygiene monitoring and exposure assessments, including air and noise monitoringDrive workplace improvements based on industrial hygiene resultsMaintain alignment with Responsible Care and RC 14001 requirementsSupport continual improvement initiatives and readiness assessmentsDevelop and deliver EHS training programs and communicationsLead emergency response preparedness activities, including planning, drills, and coordination effortsPartner with Human Resources and site leadership on injury management activities as neededPerform additional duties as assigned by plant and corporate leadership
