Escrow Data Quality - Positive Pay Processor I

About the role

Stewart Title Costa Rica is seeking an Escrow Data Quality - Positive Pay Processor I to support daily Positive Pay activities. The role involves reviewing check and ACH exception items to help prevent fraud and unauthorized payments. Training in banking controls, fraud prevention, and compliance processes is provided.

Responsibilities

• Review daily Positive Pay exception items in bank portals under established guidelines.
• Assist with deciding whether items should be paid or returned within required bank cut-off times.
• Compare presented checks and ACH items with issued check data and supporting documentation.
• Research basic discrepancies related to amounts, check numbers, payees, or dates.
• Communicate with internal teams to confirm payment details when needed.
• Escalate unfamiliar, high-risk, or suspicious items to senior team members or management.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of decisions and actions.
• Notify Bank Reconciliation of accepted ACH credits following documented procedures.
• Follow internal controls and fraud prevention protocols.
• Update production systems as needed based on transaction requests.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or a degree is a plus.
• Experience in accounting or finance, banking, and customer service.
• Comfort with systems, spreadsheets, and online banking portals.
• Ability to meet daily deadlines and follow documented procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, basic analytical and problem-solving skills, and clear written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to ask questions and learn new processes; dependable, organized, and accountable.
• Ability to handle sensitive financial information with professionalism and confidentiality.

On-the-job training for Positive Pay and ACH, with ongoing support from senior processors and management.

Time-sensitive daily responsibilities are aligned with bank deadlines.
