Fleet Manager Head of Fleet Operations

JOB DESCRIPTIONAbout the Role: We are seeking a Fleet Manager / Head of Fleet Operations to take full ownership of our fleet of 50+ trucks and trailers. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a hands on solo position responsible for equipment availability, maintenance, purchasing, DOT compliance, and cost control.
There is no in house repair department, so you will independently build vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and oversee external repair quality to maximize uptime and keep cost per mile on budget.
Key Responsibilities: • Manage full lifecycle and uptime of 50+ trucks and trailers • Source external vendors, repair shops, and parts suppliers • Control repair pricing, quality, and turnaround speed • Maintain full DOT and FMCSA compliance, inspections, and violation records • Partner with Dispatch, Safety, HR, and Finance to align operations • Oversee fleet budgeting, cost reporting, and weekly updates to the CEO • Provide driver support and manage equipment logistics
Mandatory Requirements: • 3+ years of experience in fleet management, trucking, logistics, or heavy equipment • Proven experience managing a fleet of 50+ units • Strong practical experience with DOT and FMCSA compliance • Experience in vendor management, repair pricing, and fleet budgeting • Valid CDL license • Availability onsite in Morrisville, PA, plus reasonable availability for major after hours breakdownsNice to Have: • Experience establishing fleet processes, vendor networks, and reporting systems from scratch
