Role Description The Freelance Writer will support RCC by creating clear, accurate, and engaging written content that explains engineering concepts, project work, and consulting services to both technical and non-technical audiences. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and editing reports, proposals, case studies, marketing materials, website content, and internal documentation, while ensuring consistency with RCC’s brand voice and quality standards. The role also involves collaborating with engineers and project managers to gather information, conducting background research, and tailoring content to client needs and industry guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Jose, Costa Rica, requiring consistent presence at the office to work closely with the team and access project documentation.QualificationsStrong professional writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear, concise, and accessible manner.Experience creating business and technical documents such as reports, proposals, case studies, and marketing content.Ability to conduct thorough research, interpret technical data, and incorporate input from subject matter experts into polished written materials.Excellent command of English grammar, style, and tone; proficiency in Spanish is an advantage for local collaboration.Strong organizational and time-management abilities, including meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.Comfort working on-site with cross-functional teams, demonstrating collaboration, professionalism, and attention to detail.Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Prior experience writing for engineering, construction, or professional services firms is preferred.
