About the role
Concentrix is looking for a General Ledger Accountant in Guatemala City to manage assigned accounting activities, investigate complex issues, and work with cross-functional teams to support an accurate and timely close.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries.
- Own and support account reconciliations, including cash, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, credit cards, and intercompany balances.
- Manage vendor accruals, reversals, rollforwards, true-ups, and variance analysis.
- Support fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals.
- Investigate data-quality issues, reconciliation breaks, and system/interface bugs.
- Analyze account fluctuations and explain variances.
- Support internal and external audit requests.
- Improve accounting processes, controls, and close efficiency.
- Provide guidance to Level 1 accountants and escalate issues requiring management judgment.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills, including XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, and large data sets.
- Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet recurring month-end close deadlines.
Success means completing close activities accurately and on time, maintaining well-supported reconciliations and accruals, resolving issues with minimal rework, and finding ways to strengthen controls and reduce manual effort.
