POSITION SUMMARY:
The Gunaha Teacher is primarily responsible for the delivery of the Tsuut’ina Language to the Tsuut’ina Nation Schools. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing instructional programming that will result in students achieving Tsuut’ina Language outcomes in accordance with the Tsuut’ina Language and Culture Curriculum.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Be willing and able to learn about Tsuut’ina language, cultural traditions, and teachings.
• Attend and participate in Tsuut’ina Language classes, training, and presentations about the Tsuut’ina Language and culture, and other functions as required.
• Carry out all duties ordinarily associated with the role of a teacher, including those set out in the contract of employment, and required by the School Principal, Language Education Coordinator, Tsuut’ina Gunaha Director, and the Director of Education.
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct for Teachers.
• Develop and maintain instructional planning documents, including but not limited to lesson plans and unit plans.
• Provide appropriate resource materials, information, and experiences that stimulate learning and development.
• Serve as a role model for students by setting a positive example and extending to students the same respect and trust expected in return.
• Promote student learning, pursue ongoing professional development, and participate in school activities.
• Participate in and attend all staff meetings, professional activity days, and workshops as mandated by the School Principal, Director of Education, and/or the Gunaha Director.
