🛠️ What are we looking for?Design, develop, and maintain custom Terraform Providers to support internal systems offerings and platform services.Build opinionated, security-hardened Terraform modules for cloud resource provisioning (primarily Azure, with support for GCP, AWS, and IBM Cloud).Define and enforce security baselines and compliance guardrails within custom modules and providers.Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for module testing, validation, and publishing.Design and implement workflow orchestration solutions using tools such as Temporal or Ansible Automation Platform.Provide support to the team's solutions and contribute to incident resolution.Implement solutions following best practices, standards, and secure-by-default principles.Contribute to the team's release management process, including semantic versioning and module registry publishing.Focus on automation to improve efficiency across the provider and module lifecycle.Produce clear documentation, architecture decision records, and operational dashboards.Mentor and guide other engineers on Terraform provider development patterns and secure module design.Participate in code reviews with a focus on security, maintainability, and reusability.Collaborate with platform consumers to gather requirements and translate them into provider resources and module interfaces.
🛠️ Experience5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering rolesExperience building and publishing custom Terraform Providers using the Terraform Plugin SDK or Terraform Plugin FrameworkExperience designing opinionated module libraries with enforced security and compliance patternsExperience working in large organizations with complex governance and compliance requirementsExperience working in Agile setups (Scrum, Kanban)Experience implementing, integrating, and supporting solutions in large-scale enterprise environmentsExperience operating in API-driven ecosystems and building provider resources that wrap internal or third-party APIsExperience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects (Terraform ecosystem preferred)
⭐ Must-Have Skills Go (Golang): Advanced proficiency required. Custom Terraform Providers are built using the Terraform Plugin SDK/Framework in Go.Terraform (HCL) and Terraform Internals: Expert-level proficiency in writing Terraform configurations, modules, and deep understanding of state management, provider protocol, plugin architecture, and the Terraform Plugin Framework.Microsoft Azure: Advanced knowledge of Azure cloud services (networking, identity, compute, storage, security services) and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep).Security-Focused Infrastructure Design: Demonstrated ability to define and enforce security baselines, compliance guardrails, and secure-by-default patterns within IaC modules and providersDesired SkillsLanguages and Scripting.Python for automation scripting, testing frameworks, and tooling developmentBash / Shell scripting for CI/CD pipelines and automation tasksPowerShell for Azure-specific automation scenariosInfrastructure and CloudExperience with multi-cloud environments and abstracting cloud differences behind unified module interfacesTooling and PlatformsTesting: Terratest (Go), pytest, provider acceptance testing frameworksSecurity Scanning: tfsec, checkov, Sentinel, OPA/Rego
