IT Engineer

About the Role
On behalf of Huawei we are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Engineer to join our team in Panama. This role is essential to ensuring the stability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of our internal IT systems. You will provide high-quality desktop and infrastructure support to all business users, resolving technical issues promptly and contributing to the overall productivity of the organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide first and second-level technical support for software, hardware, and network issues.Install, configure, and maintain standard IT software (Windows 10, Office Suite, security tools, and Huawei internal applications).Troubleshoot system slowness, authentication errors, email problems, driver conflicts, and connectivity issues.Perform system formatting, reinstallation, and low-level formatting when required.Manage hardware warranty processes and coordinate with asset management.Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN performance; perform basic troubleshooting of switches and routers.Support IT infrastructure for new office construction, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.Provide remote and on-site support for regional offices (Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador).Ensure availability and proper functioning of meeting rooms, video conferencing (Welink), VoIP, printers, CCTV, and wireless networks.Support IT services for internal and VIP meetings, including voice, video, and network setup.Lead or collaborate on infrastructure projects, office expansions, and technology upgrades.Provide technical advice on data transfers in compliance with Information Security policies.Be available to travel domestically and internationally for short-term assignments.
RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in IT Engineering, Computer Systems, or a related field.Experience: Proven experience in IT support, desktop engineering, or network administration.Technical Skills:Proficiency with Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit, English version) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Basic networking knowledge (switching and routing).Familiarity with security tools (Symantec Endpoint Protection), WinRAR, Adobe Reader, and Office Rights Management Tools.Knowledge of Huawei internal tools (iAccess, iDesk, CPM, Finlogon, iSafe, eSpace, Welink) is a plus.Soft Skills:Strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and resolve issues quickly.Analytical thinking, troubleshooting mindset, and autonomy to handle projects independently.Languages:Fluent English (spoken and written) – mandatory.Mandarin ChineseAvailability: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
