Mainframe DevOps Migration Consultant in Fremont, CA

Gaurav Kumar is seeking a skilled Mainframe DevOps Migration Consultant for a contract role based in Fremont, California. This position focuses on migrating legacy mainframe systems to modern DevOps environments, enhancing application efficiency and performance within the technology sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Leverage mainframe technologies such as z/OS and DB2 to support and execute migration projects.
• Implement and manage DevOps tools including Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes to enable continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Create and maintain automation scripts using Python and Bash to streamline workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate migration requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to mainframe systems and their integrations.
• Develop and document standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and efficient processes.
• Participate actively in project planning and status meetings to track progress and communicate updates.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proficiency with mainframe platforms, specifically z/OS and DB2.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash for automation purposes.
• Previous experience in a similar mainframe DevOps migration role is preferred.

This role requires close collaboration with developers, system administrators, QA engineers, and project managers to ensure timely delivery of migration milestones. The position is on-site in Fremont, CA, and is not eligible for remote work.
