Manager, People Analytics

About the role

Canonical’s Workplace Engineering function combines traditional HR analytics with modern Product Engineering. It transforms workforce data into “People Products” that support high performance and turn insights into valued outcomes.

This role reports directly to the Global Head of Workplace Engineering and sits within the Data discipline in the People department. The work connects software, data, and business needs across global operations, including sales, marketing, engineering, and human resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a specialized squad of People Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and UX Designers.

• Bridge HR and engineering language, helping engineers understand the human behavioral intent behind the code.

• Move beyond descriptive metrics such as turnover rate toward predictive and prescriptive insights, including attrition risk predictions based on “Time-Product” engagement data.

• Translate complex data models and support data stewardship and product storytelling.

• Design and iterate on experiments, automations, and products that transform insights into valued outcomes.

• Help shape Canonical’s AI/Data stack in open source and promote data literacy and stewardship across supported business teams.
