About the role

Job Duck is hiring a Medical Billing and Insurance Intake Specialist. The role supports accurate insurance communication and timely authorization support in a fast-paced healthcare operations environment.

You will manage insurance verification tasks, support utilization review processes, and follow up with insurance providers. You will work with internal teams to verify patient and insurance details and help ensure authorization requests are submitted and tracked.

The schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST (USA).

Responsibilities

• Send medical bills and supporting documentation to insurance companies.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the ticketing system.
• Initiate and track authorization-related calls and requests.
• Call insurance companies to check authorization request status.
• Assist the utilization review team with insurance verification and follow-up tasks.
• Follow up on initial cases to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance ID numbers, and diagnosis codes.
• Contact insurance providers.
