WE’RE HIRING:
MENTAL HEALTH MONITOR / SITTER

LOCATION: Phoenix, Arizona – Mental Health Unit (MHU)
INDUSTRY: Mental Health Care

The Mental Health Monitor/Sitter provides continuous observation of patients who are on suicide watch, in therapeutic restraints, or otherwise identified as being at risk for self-harm or other threats. The position involves visual and video monitoring, documentation, and appropriate behavioral, psychiatric, and behavioral observations. The role supports the patient and clinical team in identifying and mitigating immediate safety concerns with clinical support resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide continuous observation of patients on suicide watch, or otherwise restraints, or designated for risk monitoring.
Monitor patient’s thought/symptoms with an ongoing observation and reporting to clinical team.
Observe and report on patient behavior and conditions including any changes.
Record and document patient activity and observations according to unit/clinical protocols.
Reposition bedding, chairs, and assist as needed for patient safety and comfort.
Immediately report any incident to nurse or clinical team as needed.
Support patient engagement and therapeutic environment as instructed.
Perform as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience monitoring patients at-risk / observing patients, and reporting findings, experience in a medical setting.
Minimum of (6) months of clinical/ medical, or mental-health observation work.
Strong documentation skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to remain calm and professional while responding to patient needs.
Certification (CPR/First Aid) preferred.
Background check required.
