Pattern Maker

Job Purpose:
Our client in the clothing manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced Pattern Maker based in Johannesburg, with a minimum of 5 years' pattern-making experience.

The Pattern Maker will be responsible for developing accurate production patterns for corporate clothing garments based on design concepts and technical specifications. The role ensures that garments meet customer requirements, fit standards, manufacturing capabilities, quality standards, and cost objectives while supporting efficient production processes.

The Pattern Maker will work closely with Designers, Sample Machinists, Graders, Marker Makers, Production, and Quality Assurance teams throughout the product development cycle. Candidates should be proficient in CAD pattern-making systems, such as Lectra, and possess strong garment construction knowledge in

Minimum Requirements:
5–8 years’ experience as a Pattern Maker within a clothing manufacturing environment.
Experience capturing (environ. Uniforms or workwear manufacturing).
Experience with multi-size garment development.
Experience with woven and knit fabrics.
Technical: garment construction.
Technical: CAD.
Sample grading.
Fabric behaviour.
Corporate clothing manufacturing.
Industrial sewing methods.
Marker making principles.
Production manufacturing processes.
Quality control standards.
Technical specification interpretation.
Computer Skills: proficiency.
Microsoft Office.
Lectra.
Adobe Illustrator (advantageous).
