The British Embassy Santiago is recruiting an intern to join the Embassy’s Corporate Services team. The intern would support the operation, logistics and administrative processes of the Embassy. The role will involve secondary research, update existing documentation and manage databases. The role will involve planning and coordinating project activities, administrative support for HR and procurement operations, as well as working with other sections to support events and visits. The work will be in both Spanish and English. The internship will take place between 12th October 2026 and 31st March 2027.
Roles and responsibilities:Administrative support: Contribute to digitization and organization of physical and digital documentation in compliance with GDPR. Contribute to the design of a digital platform for accessing Microsoft Teams channel of internal services for the British Embassy in Santiago, aiming to organise documents and forms in a user-friendly and easily accessible way, leading the administration, update and incorporation of relevant content as well as user support.Keep section charts, texts and presentations updated with accurate information, design user-friendly informative documents, and creation and updating of DigiBoards on HR policies and other relevant topics.Development of process flow diagrams for HR and Finance administrative procedures.Contribute to the updating of administrative records, including procurement, finance and HR. Assist on the organisation of events and visits, providing support as required for events organised by Corporate Services and other sections, at the Embassy or Residence. Language requirements: Fluent Spanish. Ideally business level in both written and spoken English.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience Required:Enrolled in a Chilean superior education programme throughout the duration of the internship (12th Oct 2026 until 31st March 2027), that will allow them to participate in an internship / “práctica profesional”.
Essential on arrival:Strong organisational and analytical skills.Ability to present information clearly and logically.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to deal with multiple tasks and priorities.Excellent written English. Ability to conduct research and create reports/briefings/documents in English.Familiarity with SharePoint Online and good knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.

Desirable qualifications, skills and experience Desirable:The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude to support a range of different tasks, an eye for detail and will enjoy the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive teamExperience with Power Automate or Power Apps.Interest in AI, Copilot and knowledge management solutions.Experience designing intranet or web content.Experience with certification or audit processes

Working patterns:The intern will (ideally) work full time for 6 months, subject to their availability and academic commitments. The successful candidate will have job flexibility to meet his/hers academic commitments.An schedule of 20 hours per week will be agreed within the Embassy’s working hours. The Embassy’s working hours are 09:00 - 17:30 Mon-Thurs and 09:00 - 13:00 on Friday.
