Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team in Long Beach, California . This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $80,000 per year and the opportunity to work on marine construction projects with a focus on safety, quality, and efficient project execution. Job Description: Support marine construction projects by coordinating daily field activities with crews, tracking production, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards. Serve as a communication link between the field and office, assisting superintendents and foremen with scheduling, material coordination, and maintaining accurate production records. Potentially act as Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) or Quality Control (QC) Manager on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects, ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1 requirements. Key Responsibilities: Quality & Safety Compliance: Enforce MSHA, OSHA, Corps of Engineers, and company safety policies. Lead and participate in safety meetings. Monitor field activities for quality compliance and maintain required documentation. Field Coordination: Assist superintendent and foremen in planning and executing daily work. Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials. Communicate with Project Manager and quarry operations for material deliveries. Adjust work plans based on field conditions. Production Tracking & Reporting: Maintain daily logs of crew activities, production quantities, and equipment usage. Track materials and document quantities for payment. Monitor progress and report variances. Surveying: Perform progress surveys, verify installation, and prepare cross sections and bathymetry maps to document project progress.
