Remote Bookkeeper

At Sappi North America, a leader in sustainable forestry and paper production, we are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Remote Bookkeeper to join our financial team. Based out of Boston, Massachusetts , this full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work while contributing significantly to the financial health of our organization. As a key player in maintaining our financial records, you will directly impact our decision-making processes and overall company growth. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records by managing accounts payable and accounts receivable. Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements. Reconcile bank statements and ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to guide financial planning. Process payroll and ensure compliance with tax regulations and deadlines. Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and support for projects. Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial policies. What We're Looking For Required: Associate's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or equivalent). Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. 2-5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment. Preferred: Certification in bookkeeping or related field is preferred. This role is a vital part of our finance team, structured to promote synergy among various departments.
